Marijuana
Lets face it, we all have smoked up marijuana or weed sometimes in our lives.
It brings with it a euphoric feeling and has a relaxing effect on the mind.
Marijuana works by overloading your brains dopamine mechanism making you feel good temporarily.
The effects of marijuana come at a cost. It makes you addicted to the substance by numbing your natural receptor’s of dopamine.
Without the substance you will a lack of motivation and the zeal from your life will be lost. Real moments will not excite you and you will go back to taking a hit every time you need to feel good.
Pornography
I have spoken about pornography earlier, and for good reason.
it’s a cheap way of getting a dopamine hit with an instant gratification without putting any real work.
Overtime porn will take you on a guilt trip, with you wasting time and money.
Get rid of this habit by physically training yourself.
Too much video games
We all grew up playing video games, Contra was my favorite and later Call of duty.
While video games have their space at some point in our lives, it’s important to let them go and begin playing real sports.
Playing too many video games again is just instant gratification without any long lasting benefits.
It’s depletes you of your dopamine by giving you a false sense of achievement.
Excessive alcohol
Just like marijuana, alcohol is addictive and hurts the liver on a longer run.
A drink or two occasionally won’t harm you much but if you indulge in alcohol everyday then you are asking for trouble.
All of these substance deplete your dopamine system by overloading it with side effects. Some so dangerous that you can ruin your entire lives.
